I bought my first pre-construction condo in San Jose del Cabo in 1986. It was a studio in Laguna Vista.
I moved down full time in 1990. Yes, it was completely different and small community back then. However, you can still get your foot in the door and find an investment that is still affordable.
In 1991 I purchased a piece of land in Lomas del Tule which sits in the corridor.
In 1997 I purchases a 3.5 acre organic farm in Santiago which is about 45 minutes from San Jose del Cabo and is where the hot springs and waterfalls are.
In 2000 I purchased a condo in Marisol which sits across and up the hill from La Jolla Condos. In 2018 I purchase 2 more Laguna Vista Condos and a historical building on the town square of Santiago, B.C.S., Mexico.
I've sold everything except the Farm, Historical building and the 2 Laguna Vista Condos.
In my 37 years of investing in Mexico I've purchased properties using Fideicomisos, Foreign Corporations, Notaries, Lawyer and many accountants. I have dual citizenship in the USA and Mexico. I can certainly help you with any property transactions. And I am not the kind of Agent who disappears on you after closing. I continue to help you with anything you need and have lists of furniture stores, hurricane shutters companies, property managers, plumbers, electricians, etc!
When I moved to Mexico in 1991 there were only a hand-full of Real Estate Brokers and a couple dozen Agents. Now it is saturated and you are bombarded with agents desperate to make a sale and then they stop answering their phone after closing the deal. I am laid back in my approach and am not looking to force anyone into buying, in fact if you are dead set in buying a property and I don't feel it is a safe investment, I will talk you out of it. I am a buying before I am an Agent.
I had a property and vacation rental company in 1990, when there were only 5 in town. I owned the company for 20 years. I also was the Homeowners Association Manager for Casa del Mar Phase 2 and several others.
